Volvo Unveils Pricing Electric 2025 Lineup with Name Changes to EX90 & EX30

In a move emblematic of its commitment to electrification, Volvo Cars USA has announced the complete pricing for its 2025 model year lineup, highlighted by the introduction of two fully electric SUVs: the flagship EX90 and the compact EX30.

A Push Toward Electrification
Volvo continues to expand its offerings for a more sustainable future, providing mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and fully electric models tailored to diverse lifestyles. The automaker is positioning itself as a leader in transitioning consumers toward electrified mobility.

The EX90: A New Standard in Safety and Sustainability
First revealed in 2022, the Volvo EX90 represents the pinnacle of Volvo’s safety-first philosophy. This seven-seat luxury SUV, built on a dedicated electric platform, offers up to 310 miles of range and fast-charging capabilities, enabling a 10-80% charge in roughly 30 minutes.

Designed to merge Scandinavian elegance with cutting-edge technology, the EX90 starts at $79,995 and will be manufactured in South Carolina. The model underscores Volvo’s vision of combining practicality with luxury in the EV market.

The EX30: A Compact Powerhouse
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Volvo EX30, introduced in Europe in 2023, has quickly become a bestseller. Starting at $44,900, the Twin Motor Performance variant delivers 422 horsepower and a 253-mile range. It also boasts the title of the quickest-accelerating Volvo to date, with all-wheel drive and an ultra-fast charging capability reaching 80% in just over 25 minutes.

Renaming and Updates Across the Lineup
To align with its electric offerings, Volvo is rebranding its fully electric XC40 Recharge as the EX40. The EX40 features enhanced battery capacity and faster charging speeds. The 2025.5 XC90, Volvo’s hybrid flagship, receives design and technological updates, with pricing starting at $58,450. Its interior upgrades include improved sound insulation, premium materials, and a redesigned digital interface.

Volvo also simplifies its plug-in hybrid nomenclature by removing the “Recharge” label, replacing it with a streamlined “T8” designation.

Looking Ahead
With a growing portfolio of electric models and a renewed focus on innovation, Volvo remains steadfast in its goal to lead the automotive industry’s transition to sustainable mobility. For more details on Volvo’s 2025 lineup, visit www.volvocars.com.
