The partnership secures an exclusive supply of 4.4GWh of LG’s high-performance 2170 cylindrical battery cells from 2025 to 2031 to power Aptera’s solar EVs, slated to debut in the U.S. market in 2025.
Key elements of the collaboration include LG providing cutting-edge NCMA cathode batteries with advanced safety features, CTNS manufacturing optimized battery modules, and Aptera integrating these components into its ultra-efficient solar EVs. Aptera’s solar EV design allows for up to 64 km (40 miles) of solar-powered range daily, reaching a total annual solar range of over 16,093 km (10,000 miles), with a single-charge driving range of 643 km (400 miles).
