The Chicago Automobile Trade Association (CATA) has announced the highly anticipated return of the Chicago Auto Show, set to take place from February 8 to 17, 2025, at McCormick Place. As the nation’s longest-running auto exposition, this winter tradition promises an engaging experience featuring the latest in automotive innovation, hands-on activities, and educational opportunities.
A Showcase of Diversity and Innovation
“The Chicago Auto Show is a cherished winter tradition, and we can’t wait to once again welcome attendees to experience the thrill of the latest technology and safety features of today’s cars, trucks, and SUVs,” said Chairwoman Kelly Webb Roberts. The show floor will feature a wide array of vehicles, from sporty sedans and luxury rides to off-roaders and cutting-edge electric vehicles (EVs).
Returning this year is the popular Chicago Drives Electric indoor EV test track, expanded to two tracks to accommodate growing interest. Attendees will have the chance to test ride the latest EV models and visit an education hub addressing key topics such as charging infrastructure, range anxiety, and maintenance costs. According to data from the 2024 show, 71% of EV test drive participants reported an improved opinion of EV ownership, with over half indicating increased likelihood of purchase.
“Based on the research, we learned that once people experience an EV, they feel more comfortable with the idea of owning one,” said General Manager Jennifer Morand. “In 2025, attendees will encounter more brands and models, making it a comprehensive, one-stop shop for EV exploration.”
Exciting Additions to the 2025 Lineup
This year’s show introduces several new features and themed events:
- Overlanding Chicago: A dedicated space highlighting the overlanding lifestyle, featuring specialty vehicles, off-road accessories, and live demonstrations.

This black-tie event has raised over $63 million for local charities since its inception.
