NACS for Volvo & Poestar Drivers

Volvo Cars is giving drivers of its electric vehicles, including the new EX90 SUV, access to over 17,800 Tesla Supercharger stations in the U.S. and Canada. From 2025, new Volvo electric models like the EX90, EX40, and EC40 will come with a Tesla charger adapter. Existing EV owners can buy the adapter for $230 in the U.S. or $310 in Canada. Adapters start shipping on November 18, 2024. Volvo’s app helps users find and pay for charging stations, with directions available via the Google Assistant.

Polestar (now offers its customers access to 17,800 Tesla Superchargers across North America, complementing its existing offer in Europe and China.

Future Polestar cars in North America will adopt the NACS inlet as standard equipment and until then, Polestar owners can order a NACS adapter through their local Polestar Service Center. In addition, Polestar’s in-car Google Maps will be updated to show all available NACS chargers.

Monta Opens in USA

Monta, a Copenhagen-based EV charging platform, has opened its U.S. headquarters in Miami to expand its services, aiming to connect 25,000 commercial charge points by 2025 and 1 million by 2030. Monta’s software streamlines EV charging by connecting various stakeholders, such as operators, hardware manufacturers, and fleet managers, optimizing the charging experience. In partnership with Emobi, Monta will instantly support over 118,000 charge points in North America. Supported by $87 million in funding, Monta aims to address U.S. EV market challenges, like unsuccessful charges, by providing a smoother, integrated software solution to accelerate EV adoption.

Nature’s Miracle Buys Robostreet E-Trucks

Nature’s Miracle Holding Inc.  (“Nature’s Miracle” or the “Company”), a leader in vertical farming technology and infrastructure, today announced it has entered into a Cooperation Agreement (the “Agreement”) with Robostreet Inc. (“Robostreet”) to order a total of 150 LS450 electric trucks from Robostreet. As part of the agreement, Robostreet will coordinate a third-party agency to assist Nature’s Miracle in applying for California’s incentive program to fund the purchase.

Nature’s Miracle plans to convert these electric trucks into mobile vertical farms in order to grow micro-greens and herbs which will be delivered to an end customer base including consumers and businesses.   Nature’s Miracle will order 150 LS 450 electric trucks from Robostreet, 40 of which will be delivered by the end of 2024, and the remaining will be delivered within one year. Nature’s Miracle plans to initially deploy the Mobile E Farms in the Los Angles market. Simultaneously, Robostreet will provide the required resources to maintain its electric trucks including a photovoltaic and energy storage integrated charging station at Nature’s Miracle’s California warehouse.

West Virginia Invests in GreenPower School Buses

GreenPower Motor Company Inc., a leader in all-electric, zero-emission medium and heavy-duty vehicles, announced details for an order of 50 electric school buses. The order includes Type D BEAST and Mega BEAST, as well as Type A Nano BEAST and Nano BEAST Access models. These buses will serve seven county school districts in West Virginia. The purchase is funded by the EPA Clean School Bus Program and made through GreenPower’s West Virginia dealer.

Hyzon TALKE Successful

Hyzon, a U.S.-based leader in hydrogen fuel cell systems, announced a successful trial of its Class 8 200kW Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV). The trial was conducted with TALKE, a  logistics provider for the chemical industry. This test run took place within TALKE USA’s Houston drayage operations.

One of TALKE’s professional drivers, Timothy (Tim) Rivon shared, “I’ve been driving my whole life, even came out of retirement because I love it. Change can be tough, but you can’t beat the quieter ride and how smooth it drives.”

IL Grants Blink $20Millin for Infrastructure

Blink Charging Co. (NASDAQ: BLNK) has received a nearly $2 million grant from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency to expand EV charging infrastructure in Illinois.

Funded under the state’s “Rebuild Illinois” capital program and the Climate and Equitable Jobs Act, the grant supports Blink’s installation of commercial-grade DC Fast Chargers and Level 2 stations at five public locations.

The project includes 15 new Blink charging stations (10 DC fast chargers and five Dual Port Level 2 stations). Blink will cover 30% of the program’s costs and handle site assessments, installation, maintenance, repairs, and training.

Battery Workforce Learns on Ram ProMaster EVs

Participants in the Battery Workforce Challenge, a collaboration between the U.S. Department of Energy, Stellantis, and Argonne National Laboratory, received keys to 12 new 2024 Ram ProMaster electric vans. Chrysler and Ram Brand CEO Chris Feuell and Stellantis VP Mark Champine presented the vans to students, who will design, build, test, and integrate advanced battery packs for these EVs. The ProMaster EV, built with a unibody design for electrification, provides students with hands-on experience in creating battery solutions for commercial work vehicles.
