Green Hills Founder Proves Tesla Self-Driving is Faulty–Crushes Child-Sized Dummies

The Dawn Project is exposing the dangers of Tesla’s self-driving. Dan O’Dowd, founder is applying his expertise in fail-safe technology to stand up to Elon Musk’s reckless deployment of unsafe Full Self-Driving cars on  roads. He is running campaign showing how bad Tesla self-driving is, showing a Tesla running over a child-sized dummy.

In a Twitter post, O’Dowd said “We are prepared to reproduce these scientific safety tests for the media and regulators.”
In an embedded video he states “Telsa Self-driving software is the worst software, I have ever seen.”

O’Dowd leads the Dawn Project and is expert in creating software that never fails and can’t be hacked. He created the secure operating systems for projects including Boeing’s 787s, Lockheed Martin’s F-35 Fighter Jets, the Boeing B1-B Intercontinental Nuclear Bomber, and NASA’s Orion Crew vehicle. He joined National Semiconductor in 1978 to design the architecture for the NS32000 32-bit microprocessor that was used in the Global Surveyor that went to Mars, and then mapped the whole surface of Mars.

In 1982, seeking a new challenge, O’Dowd founded Green Hills Software, which he has been President and CEO of ever since. The company works to ensure the safety and security of crucial systems across all areas of society—military, industrial, and commercial. His focus for each project is to write software that cannot fail and cannot be hacked.

He is running a nationwide advertising campaign, with an ad showing actual videos of shocking malfunctions in Tesla’s Full Self-Driving software.

A tribute to consumer advocate Ralph Nader’s famous crusade against the auto industry’s resistance to safety measures, the nationwide ad campaign features harrowing moments where Tesla’s FSD software failed and would have caused an accident had the driver not intervened. Frightened drivers can be heard swearing and gasping in fear.

Here’s the text of the Dawn Project’s earlier video.

You are watching actual videos of the Tesla full self driving technology to drivers from turning too tightly and hitting a pilot to swerving toward a pole. Watch the bicyclist on the right almost get hit before the driver takes over. Sometimes it seems a Tesla doesn’t want the driver to take over. This driver had to hit the brakes when the Tesla didn’t understand a detour side. Here it almost hit a truck. Obviously, take over and he would swerves into oncoming lane. Look at that. Often the Tesla doesn’t know what it wants to do. Or just doesn’t know how to turn. Tesla’s full self driving software for drivers and pedestrians it’s Unsafe at Any Speed. Tell Congress to shut it down.
