Porshce introduces the new addition to the Taycan model line, as the new 2020 Porsche Taycan 4S joins the Taycan Turbo and Turbo S at dealerships in preparation for customer deliveries.
Klaus Zellmer, President and CEO of PCNA commented: “The new Taycan 4S sits right at the heart of our electrified model line-up, delivering the effortless performance and engaging dynamics expected of a Porsche sports car with the space and connectivity that make it viable for everyday use. Even in these challenging times, it is a credit to our dealers that they have developed innovative ways to support our customers. This means the first of the Taycan 4S’s to arrive here in the US will be delivered by our dealers to awaiting customers in the coming days.”
The jurors of the World Car of the Year Awards agreed, by giving the Taycan two awards, a first for Porsche: ‘World Performance Car of the Year’ and ‘World Luxury Car of the Year.’
Powering the Taycan 4S is the 93.4-kWh Performance Battery Plus that allow its dual motors to generate up to 562 hp (420kW) using its overboost function and when launch control is activated. When configured in this way, it can accelerate from a standstill to 60 mph in just 3.8 seconds. Its top track speed is 155 mph, made possible through its two-speed gearbox.
The EPA estimated range for the Taycan 4S is 203 miles. Supplemental third party range testing conducted by AMCI will be available on our web site.
The Taycan was unveiled in September of 2019 and the global debut of the Taycan 4S, and subsequent media launch followed at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
Customers can, in states where it’s feasible to do so, collect their cars in person, or if required (or preferred) receive their new Taycan via contactless home delivery – providing customers with access to new cars without leaving the house. This is part of the innovative ‘Porsche at Your Service’ program, designed to assist customers with greater flexibility and convenience when it comes to online sales, vehicle collection and delivery as well as servicing.
Designed and engineered from the ground up by a new team at Porsche, and built in a completely new factory located in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, the Taycan represents a bold and innovative step in Porsche’s investment in electrification.
