Tesla is warning Tesla drivers in the Bay Area to keep their cars charged. There is live map of functioning super chargers in the cars.Many owners will not be able to charge at home with power outages.
Elon Musk Tweeted that eventually, All Tesla Supercharger stations in regions affected by California power outages will have Tesla Powerpacks within next few weeks.”
They are waiting for permits. The company is trying to add Tesla Solar to the Supercharger station quickly. The goal is to not be affected by power outages and generate clean energy.
It has been reported that Superchargers are powered by diesel generators that are gross polluters. It has been suggested that electric charging station have hydrogen fuel cell generators.
800,000 PG&E customers will be affected by the outages mainly to single family homes with power wires that can be disconnected by wind and then hit flammable materials such as homes or trees.
PG&E made a map showing areas that will experience outages at midnight tonight. PG&E reported that outages may last for days.
PG&E wrote on its website
