Clarion Corporation of America,  announced that Evolved Vehicle Environment’s EVEConnect platform is now available on all Clarion Smart Access devices and SUBARU STARLINK multimedia systems that feature the STARLINK App.  EVE currently has Tesla users in 32 countries. Chamberlain and LiftMaster garage door opener brands, partnered with EVE (Evolved Vehicle Environments), makers of the EVE for Tesla dashboard, to deliver in-vehicle smart-home capabilities in the new EVEConnect.

The STARLINK multimedia system, available in Subaru vehicles, utilizes Clarion’s advanced Smart Access cloud connectivity platform to seamlessly sync and control cloud-based applications directly through an equipped vehicle’s center stack, via a connected smartphone as the data connection. Designed to support both Apple iOS and Android smartphones, the STARLINK app brings continuously updated cloud applications to the vehicle’s center stack display. Drivers can then access all STARLINK approved apps and services effortlessly, including EVEConnect, allowing for safe access and display on the vehicle’s touch panel.

EVEConnect integrates connected home devices from a number of popular platforms into one easily accessible environment. The solution enables users to control locks, garage doors, lights, thermostats and more from their cars. Ergonomically designed for safe and effective in-car use, EVEConnect provides seamless connectivity and functionality that aims to reduce driver distraction.

“We’ve spent years developing the perfect platform for safely integrating the robust intelligence of today’s smart home technologies into the connected car,” said Jason Taylor, Co-founder of EVE. “Having Subaru integrate EVEConnect into its STARLINK In-Vehicle Technology serves as validation for the amount of work that went into making EVEConnect such a powerful solution for amalgamating every connected device we use daily and giving drivers the ability to control or automate their functionality from their car.”

SUBARU STARLINK In-Vehicle Technology is built upon Clarion’s Smart Access connected automotive infotainment system. Exclusive to Clarion, Smart Access is one of the industry’s most advanced and extensive cloud-based information access, analysis and sharing platforms. Smart Access is a scalable and secure connectivity platform designed to provide proactive real-time information flow between the connected car and connected home, allowing access to information that redefines the connected car experience.

“Since its introduction, Clarion’s Smart Access connected cloud platform has continuously evolved by offering bolstered functionality, improved connectivity and added support for numerous popular mobile apps. One of the most attractive virtues of Smart Access for automotive brands like Subaru, is that all updates made by Clarion to the system translate seamlessly to their branded systems,” said Allen H. Gharapetian, Vice President of Marketing and Product Planning for Clarion Corporation of America. “By integrating EVEConnect into the Smart Access platform, we are providing all of our Smart Access OEM customers the ability to bridge the gap between their connected car and their connected home, and control everything directly from the driver seat of their vehicles.”

EVEConnect features tons of automation functionality designed to simplify the lives of drivers, with automation functions that correspond with specific driving events, such as leaving or coming home. The EVEConnect automation, “Leaving Home,” activates as the user pulls out of their driveway. Using geofencing technology, EVEConnect senses the exit and initiates a series of functions. The garage door closes, exterior doors lock, security cameras switch on, interior lights turn off and the thermostat switches to “away” mode. When the sequence is complete, EVEConnect displays a notification on the vehicle’s center stack. EVEConnect automations are also fully customizable. Users have total control of their smart home with the ability to create their own automations tailored to their individual routines and needs. EVEConnect is a subscription service, with plans starting at $2.99 per month, $25.99 a year, or $69.99 for three years.
