Best and Worst Cities for Parking

Parkopedia, released the 2018 Top 40 US Cities Parking Index. The latest in the Global Parking Index series aims to provide parking stakeholders with hourly, daily, monthly and monthly reserved parking rates from the Central Business Districts (CBDs) of forty of the top US markets.

 In developing this report, Parking Property Advisors gathered data from more than 650 parking facilities representing more than 300,000 parking spaces via direct research with numerous operators, owners, appraisers and property inspections. This data was combined with Parkopedia’s extensive parking information dataset for the Top 40 US CBDs.
The highest hourly parking rate is in New York City at $27.00 Boston and Chicago have median hourly rates in excess of $17 and $16 per hour respectively. Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Minneapolis round out the highest six hourly markets with rates between $10 and $12 per hour.
New York City has a daily rate of $42.25, Chicago is at $30.00 and Boston is at $34.00.
New York City has a monthly rate of $616, Boston is at $425 a month and San Francisco is at $322.

All prices were calculated as the median of corresponding parking rates for all publicly available off-street parking facilities in a city center. This was based on Parkopedia’s global dataset of parking in cities across the US and Parking Property Advisors’ additional research of rates in Central Business Districts in major US cities; inc: Atlanta, Baltimore, Bellevue, Boise, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago Cincinnati, Cleveland ,Columbus, Dallas, Denver, Detroit , Fort Lauderdale, Fort Worth, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Louisville, Miami, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, Nashville, New Orleans, New York City, Newark, Orlando , Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Portland, Raleigh, Richmond, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, St. Louis, Tampa, Washington D.C.
