AT&T Uses HARMAN’s TCU

AT&T selected HARMAN’s Telematics Control Unit (TCU) for its Mobile Broadband Accelerator program. The program streamlines AT&T’s certification process to ensure that new products and services reach customers more quickly.

HARMAN’s industry-leading TCU is an integrated on-board telematics and infotainment unit that connects automotive systems to the cloud. It offers high-speed connectivity for fast, automotive-grade connectivity backed by industry-leading security.

Alexa Start My BMW

The BMW Connected App will soon work with Alexa and the Amazon Echo starting in September.

Carvana Funding Nirvana

Carvana, the leading national online auto retailer and creator of the world’s first coin-operated Car Vending Machine, today announced it closed a new $160 million Series C funding round, bringing total funding to $460 million.

This funding round will be used to support Carvana’s growth, including expanding physical operations and Car Vending Machines to new markets across the country, hiring new talent across all offices, continuing investment in cutting-edge technology that delivers the best customer experience possible, and increasing Carvana’s inventory to more than 10,000 company-owned vehicles by the end of 2016.

Panasonic buys OpenSynergy

Panasonic Corporation and OpenSynergy GmbH  announced that Panasonic has acquired all the outstanding shares of the German software company to make it a subsidiary on July 22. OpenSynergy is a high-tech company specializing in embedded automotive software for cockpit solutions.

OpenSynergy’s software technologies enable multiple different operating systems to be integrated into one system. These technologies make it possible to realize a next-generation cockpit system where multimedia and driver support functions are integrated.

Amphenol Medium Amperage

Amphenol Industrial Products Group now offers a medium amperage connection system that is rated to up to 70 A of continuous current.  The ePower-Lite has an operating voltage of 800 VDC.

Designed for the hybrid and electric vehicle markets, these connectors feature a lightweight plastic shell and compact design to provide both weight and space savings in vehicle architecture.

The ePower-Lite features 2-way, 3-way and 4-way systems with optional HVIL and EMI shielding for safety and performance

Iteris PedTrax

Iteris, Inc. (NASDAQ: ITI), the global leader in applied informatics for transportation and agriculture, announced that it will unveil its PedTrax™ computer vision technology for pedestrian measurement at the ITE 2016 Annual Meeting August 14-17 in Anaheim, Calif.
