Pioneer announced five new CarPlay-enabled Networked Entertainment eXperience (NEX) receivers, the AVIC-8200NEX, AVIC-7200NEX, AVIC-6200NEX, AVIC-5200NEX and AVH-4200NEX with expanded Bluetooth and entertainment options. Three models support Android Auto, too.
The different receiver have different screen sizes. The screen the AVIC-8200EX and 7200NEX have 7″ WVGA touchscreen. The AVIC 6200NEX and 5200NEX have a 6.2″ WVGA screen. The AVH-4200NEX has a 7″ screen.
Android Auto (AVIC-8200NEX, AVIC-7200NEX, and AVH-4200NEX)
Three of the five NEX models AVIC-8200NEX, AVIC-7200NEX, and AVH-4200NEX support Android Auto on Android phone running Android 5.0 (Lollipop), the phone is connected via Bluetooth and a USB cable. Android Auto allows for some voice-to-text features, Google Now, Google Maps, features Google Maps and Google Play Music.
Apple CarPlay (AVIC-8200NEX, AVIC-7200NEX, AVIC-6200NEX, AVIC-5200NEX and AVH-4200NEX )
Pioneer’s CarPlay-compatible NEX in-dash receivers can use CarPlay with the latest version of iOS on their iPhone 5 or newer, including iPhone 6s Plus and iPhone 6s, can use Siri voice control to make and receive calls, compose and respond to text messages, access Apple Maps for navigation, and listen to their music, podcasts, or iTunes Radio. The units will accept voice commands with Siri Eyes-Free.
Most of the models can play music from DVD’s, CD’s, SD cards and USB drives. Most can receive a video signal from a rearview camera.
Models with navigation use HERE maps with Lane Information, Speed Limit & Warnings, Free Lifetime Traffic by Total Traffic Network, Multiple Driver Profile and external GPS antenna. Most also work with Pandora and AppRadio.
With a Pioneer NEX in-dash receiver, sound quality features like built-in Auto EQ and Time Alignment, 13-Band Graphic Equalizer with touch panel swipe settings and built-in high/low pass crossover with adjustable points and slopes provide you with the controls to tailor the listening experience to your vehicle and listening preferences. The CD-MC20 microphone is required for Auto EQ features and sold separately.
All models have Advanced Bluetooth capabilities.HTExpanded iDatalink Maestro® support including climate control, parking assist, performance gauges and vehicle information such as tire pressure and diagnostic codes. Features vary by vehicle.

The new NEX models will be available in March with suggested retail prices of: $1,400 (AVIC-8200NEX), $1,200 (AVIC-7200NEX), $900 (AVIC-6200NEX), $750 (AVIC-5200NEX) and $700 (AVH-4200NEX).
