Caruma launched an Indiegogo compaign for a connected dash cam with Wi-Fi hotspots. Caruma claims that the device and service allows users to see what is happening inside and outside of their car, for around the clock safety.
Two high-definition cameras with wide-angle lenses and sensors record activity inside and outside the vehicle. When it senses a problem, Caruma sends a notification to the user’s smartphone. The car owner can view live video in the car of thieves or teens driving.
Alerts are sent when there are sounds and movement indicate collision, vandalism, theft, speeding, geofencing, or even aggressive driving. The smartphone app can track mileage.
The Caruma device is discounted to $279 for IndieGoGo backer features gyroscope, accelerometer, and proximity sensors as well as GPS, AT&T 4G LTE data, Wi-Fi Hotspots, Bluetooth, MicroSD slot, LED lights, microphone, speaker, alert button and a Rechargeable lithium-polymer battery
Caruma will work with insurance companies for insurance discounts.

The advanced service plan for $14.99 a month free cloud service plus three months of rolling cloud storage, location alerts, Insurance Telematics Technology, and 500MB of AT&T prepaid data. The deluxe plan at $19.99 month includes one year of rolling cloud storage, location alerts, fleet tracking, Insurance Telematics Technology, and 500MB of AT&T prepaid data.
