Lincoln’s free MyLincoln Mobile app, will offer integration with Google Now cards to remotely schedule starts with information from Google Now and calendar appointments.
The MyLincoln Mobile app lets drivers start, lock, unlock and locate their vehicle, as well as schedule remote starts. Embedded modems on the 2015 Lincoln MKC and MKZ and the 2016 Lincoln MKX, enable the MyLincoln Mobile app to start, lock, unlock and locate and schedule remote starts.
Remote starts can be programmed for specific times and days of the week. If subscribed to Google Now, MyLincoln Mobile delivers a Now card (in the Google app) suggesting a remote start because the owner’s calendar indicates a need to leave.
If the remote start option is selected, the vehicle is then warmed up or cooled off during the remote start based on the in-vehicle temperature settings.
Both the MyLincoln Mobile connectivity and Google services are opt-in features. Notifications can be turned off, if desired.
Now cards in the Google app suggestions are based on past and preferred searches as well as the user’s calendar, offering information on topics such as weather, traffic routes and sports scores.
Other features of the MyLincoln mobile app include:
- Monitoring the status of fuel and odometer.
- Alerts about tire pressure or battery charge.
The MyLincoln Mobile app, available for free download in the
and Google Play stores, includes security settings to prevent
unauthorized access to the vehicle. MKC owners can register multiple vehicles to a single app, and can grant vehicle access to more than one smartphone user.
