Pioneer announced more (NEX) in-dash receivers for 2015 at CES. The new models are AVIC-8100NEX, AVIC-7100NEX, AVIC-6100NEX, AVIC-5100 NEX and AVH-4100NEX. These models include Apple CarPlay, Pioneer’s AppRadio Mode, advanced Bluetooth capabilities, MirrorLink compatibility, Pandora internet radio, SiriusXM-Ready, iDatalink Maestro support, and FLAC file playback.
Pioneer Electronics announced that three of the news units will have Android Auto integration, the AVIC-8100NEX, AVIC-7100NEX and AVH-4100NEX . The Android units have 7 -inch touchscreens (capacitive on the AVIC-8100NEX and clear resistive on the AVIC-7100NEX and AVH-4100NEX), an included external microphone for high quality hands free calling and voice
The Android Auto systems integrate with Android smartphones running Android Lollipop, and add OK Google functionality, Google maps and media functions.
6.2-inch screens are on the (AVIC-6100NEX and AVIC-5100NEX) display sizes.
The full featured Bluetooth AVRCP 1.4 provides browsing of a user’s media library and HFP 1.6 with wideband audio for better sound quality.
Built-in features of NEX models include:

- Wideband Speech & A2DP AAC Bluetooth Connectivity.
- Apple CarPlay Compatibility.
- MirrorLink Connectivity.
- HD RadioTechnology.
- iDataLink Maestro Technology.
- Dual Zone Audio/Video Playback.
The Pioneer AVIC-8100NEX ($1,400 SRP), AVIC-7100NEX ($1,200 SRP), and AVH-4100NEX($700 SRP) will be available in March 2015.
The AVIC-6100NEX ($900 SRP) and AVIC-5100NEX ($750 SRP) will also be released in March.
@ Clay : Do you really think they have time to waste on useless firmware upgrades instead of next new model.Competition on car-stereos is so hot right now that u have to able to keep up with other manufacturers,one missed year with keeping up and you’re out of business..
Yeah this sucks, I have a NEX-5000 and it will not work with Android, should do a firmare update instead of a new radio, wife has iPhone and I just upgraded to the HTC M8 and now my radio is useless
