Hitachi & Clarion partner for fast connected car development

clarionhtichHitachi Data Systems and Clarion have partnered to develop data solutions for Clarion in-vehicle connections. They hope to give drivers and car makers information for better car performance and safety from the Internet of Things and M2M (Machine-to-Machine) communications.

Hitachi and Clarion will work on ways to predict car maintenance as well as “wear over time” for lower service costs and higher driver satisfaction.

Enhanced infotainment and telematic services include safe access to weather, GPS and mobile connectivity. Eventually the systems will connected to other vehicles and cities V2V and V2I.

Clarion promises performance/usage data for car makes, risk management for insurance, usage for feet management, fleet management for industry and safety/performance for customers.

Clarion offers intelligent voice powered by Google.  Currently, Clarion infotainment systems have issues with iOS 8 and iPhone 6/6+.
