Pioneer App Radio issues with iOS 8 & CarPlay delay?

Pioneerappradio3headunitPioneer AppRadio users should think twice before upgrading to iOS 8. There are problems with the in-app keyboard, general compatibility and display issues with AppRadio Mode apps. Therefore Pioneer suggests not updating to iOS 8 if you are using AppRadio apps in your car.

For AppRadio users with AppRadio Mode, Pioneer evaluated compatibility for iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPhone 4s and iPod touch (5th generation) users. There are stability issues with the in-app keyboard with iOS 8 for AppRadio, AppRadioLIVE, Waze, ECTouch, CarBrowser, DashCommand, ExtraMile, Beej and Parkopedia.

AppRadio Mode apps that suffer from general stability and/or display related issues are Escort Live,My PV and MIXTRAX.

Pioneer advises that to maintain AppRadio Mode use of aforementioned apps, keep sing iOS 7.1.2 with your iPhone or iPod touch.

There is no issues with iPod Touch 4G users because it can not be updated to iOS 8.

We have contacted Pioneer to find out when they will have an update. We also are wondering if MirrorLink systems work with iOS 8.
