Chevy announced at SXSW that Beats Music streaming music will be available in the Chevy AppShop and on select Chevy models this year.
Beats Music is a streaming music service with playlist and curated music options. Chevy AppShop can be used via 4G LTE connections through OnStar 4G LTE. A free trial of Beats Music or paid subscription is required.
The Beats Music App will be designed for in-car use and offer Just for You suggestions and staff favorites. Features that require attention such as typing in passwords, will not be available while the car is moving.
The Chevrolet AppShop will begin to roll out later this year on select 2015 models in the U.S. and Canada with MyLink technology from the Cruze to the Colorado.
Note currently AT&T Wireless subscribers get up to three months of Beats Music for free. Family Beats Music plans are $14.99 month and individual plans are $9.99 a month.
OnStar 4G LTE using A&T will be available starting in this summer. AT&T customers can add the Chevy vehicle onto their mobile share plans. The Chevrolet AppShop will offer Priceline hotel booking.
